Valentina Martino, an Argentinian tango teacher, has no other choice than staying illegal in Cornwall with her niece Elena because of the tax evasion of her former husband. She gets a job as a housekeeper with the widowed author Jack Rukin and his daughter Amanda to raise the necessary money for her own dancing school. However, this is not a simple job for the fun-loving and tough Argentinian, because Jack cloisters himself away since his wife died in an accident and gets cynical among fellow human beings. Soon Jack and Valentina come into conflict with each other. Henry, Jack´s neighbor and city council, wants to help Valentina to stay in the country. Besides he promises to fulfill her greatest desire: her own dancing school.
