Mie shows her crazy friend Vronsky the anonymous letters that have started to arrive for her in the hospital: somebody is trying to help her? The pyromaniac helps Mie put the puzzle pieces together and draws her attention to the mysterious figure of Bob, the ranger that haunts her dreams. He’s convinced Bob and the woods have something to do with the disappearance of Spectre.
Since Mie has promised to cooperate with the investigation, Wolkers convinces her to undergo hypnosis, hoping to find something buried in her subconscious.
In the past, the family gets together for Halloween. The dreary time of the year makes Mie’s psychosis and hallucinations escalate. Lonely and confused, she tries to figure out the reason behind Benoit’s distant behavior, and discovers something horrible.
