Spring at last
Country social worker Katja Baumann's latest case makes great demands on her. On the Reichtmayr farm, three-year-old Benny almost drowned in the tub since his big sister Laura wasn't paying attention. Katja notices that Laura is behaving very strangely – and not only towards her mother, but towards her younger sister Christina as well, who gets the full force of Laura's outbursts. Christina herself is level-headed and very mature for her age, and helps out wherever she can. With tenacity and sensitivity, Katja gains the confidence of the two girls, and thus learns about a secret that reveals a family on the edge of disaster. Meanwhile, on the home front, Katja has been too absorbed in her work to notice the storm clouds brewing over the relationship of vet Mark and his girlfriend Sophie, and that involve a militant animal conservationist.
