A new day is dawning in Frühling, as Katja retrieves several unsettling letters from her mailbox. She was aware that Mark was going to be a father, but holding the birth announcement in her hand suddenly makes it all very real. Confronted with this, she doesn’t really think about the second letter as a threat, though Adrian does. It is a message pasted together using letters cut from the newspaper, warning her something is going to happen to her if she does not leave Frühling. Adrian urges her to take it seriously and go to the police!
