After storms and drought having wiped out the harvest, the country of tyrannical Count Reuben von Hammerlitz is now threatened by a terrible famine. The people's only hope lies in a magic pot that produces large quantities of sweet porridge and could therefore put an end to their hardship and hunger. But the pot has been missing for years, and no one knows where to find it.
Refusing to simply accept her fate, young Jola sets out to find the pot. During her search, she meets mysterious forest woman Moira, who gives her a first shard of clay from the missing pot. In her quest to find the other missing clay shards, the young woman faces many adventures and obstacles.
Then she meets Veit, who pretends to be someone else and is also interested in the pot. While they continue the search together, the two become fond of each other.
