Children tell their stories! “smart! that’s my story” are high-quality, original, true-life documentaries for children aged 6 to 10. In every “smart!” story a different child is portrayed. The children describe the challenges of everyday life from their own point of view: How they reached a goal, how they made a basic decision or coped with a decision of their parents, how they deal with problems or initiate changes in life. Here the perspectives of children and adults vary a lot. In “smart!” the main character is an active participant and the story is told in the child’s own words. There is no additional comment by adults in this series. The series has won several national and international prizes and competitions e. g. “Kölner Medienpreis”, “Deutsch-Französischer Journalistenpreis”, “Prix Jeunesse International”, “Goldener Spatz”, “EMIL” for good children’s television, “Erich-Kästner-Preis”, “Deutscher Sozialpreis” and “Children’s International Filmfestival of Chicago”.
