Monika and Joachim still love one other, and Monika wants to make the relationship permanent. When Joachim makes a confession, however, marriage becomes out of the question. In desperation, Monika embarks on a film career, also hoping to give her daughter Dorli reason to be proud of her. But soon Monika senses that she can’t be happy in the turbulent film business, and causes a scandal.
