Dr. Cécile Roche identifies the same bacteria in crabs that have swept the coasts around the world as the same one that entered the drinking water in France's coast via infected lobsters.

The "Thorvaldson" sets course to the Arctic, where a large number of Yrr signals have been detected. Anawak and Crowe believe that communication with the Yrr is possible exactly at that spot.

Aito Mifune is flown in by helicopter to personally learn about the research results on board the "Thorvaldson".
