To our eyes, the world is an exciting, colourful place – but our vision is flawed: we can only see a fraction of what goes on around us. Using newest camera technology, we reveal a parallel universe lost to our senses: the world as we have never seen it before. In two new episodes of “Invisible Universe” we unravel mysteries of science and turn the invisible into a feast for the eyes. From the exactly synchronised movements of circus artists and ballet-dancers to the nocturnal acrobatics of a Daubenton’s bat hunting in near-darkness, the spectacular metamorphosis of a butterfly or the ingenuity of a human foot – the processes involved are hidden to the naked eye. But super-high-speed photography, sensitive thermal imaging cameras, scanning electron microscopy and high-speed infrared cameras can reveal the invisible and help explain how it all works. It’s an excursion into a world of science and wonder where the inexplicable is revealed in stunning images and breathtaking experiments.
