The bitter orange tree, also known as the bigaradier, is deeply rooted in the history of the hinterland of the Côte d’Azur.
It is not valued for its fruit, but for its blossoms: from them, neroli oil is distilled, one of the most precious raw materials in the perfume industry.
The film follows families as they harvest the blossoms, shows how pâtissiers refine their creations with orange blossom water, and explores the unique culture surrounding the orange blossom in local distilleries and at village festivals.
