Wildegg’s volunteer fire department is not able to put out the fire at Altay’s car repair shop, leaving Altay with his existence in ruins. The suspicion of arson quickly materializes, and a local populist politician attempts to exploit the situation for his own purposes.
The fire has unforeseen consequences. The atmosphere in Wildegg takes a turn for the worst, making it necessary for Marie to not only take care of Altay’s family, but also set an example.
