Mayor Claudia Voss finds herself facing a challenge when her town’s administrative district decides to set up a shelter for refugees in the quiet town of Neustadt-Linden, of all places. Claudia is determined to make the best of the situation, but the plans for the shared housing quickly encounter resistance, spearheaded by businessman Veith Landauer. Claudia is initially unaware that the right-wing movement is increasingly setting its sights on her.
