Now Max is on the verge of being expelled from school. It soon becomes clear that the incident has a back story: Months ago, teacher Annika Ritter decided to cover The Diary of Anne Frank with the class and Max in turn talked about his Jewish heritage, becoming the target of months of bullying by his classmates.
