In the French forest areas that belong to the wealthy noble family von Geyersberg from Baden Württemberg, Count Jürgen von Geyersberg was found cruelly murdered during a hunt. Investigations by Niemans, Camille and their German colleague Kleinert show that the murder was carried out in the style of a stalking hunt. The surveys of Laura von Geyersberg and her uncle Frantz suggest that this may be an act of revenge within the noble family.

When Niemans is attacked by a dog, it turns out that it is the extremely dangerous dog breed of Roetken, which was used by the Nazis for their purposes and was considered extinct. Again and again, the investigators come across the connections of the von Geyersbergs to the Nazis and that the murder has something to do with their history as passionate hunters.
