After an unidentified woman’s corpse washes up in a nearby river, Commisioner Susanne Landauer is called to the countryside to investigate the disappearance of an anonymous schizophrenic woman who escaped from the psychiatric ward of Dr. Mangold’s hospital many years ago. To her shock, standard DNA testing reveals that the corpse and the psychiatric patient are indeed the same person: her biological mother. The only thing left for Susanne to investigate is what lurks behind these strange events.
