Lubina lives for her work. The local historian is particularly passionate about the myths and customs of the Wendland region, carefully compiling everything she can find about them. The archive in the local history museum she runs is packed with material on the subject, soon to be an important source for Inspector Stiller when Lubina is found dead one day. The way she was murdered echoes an old custom that is both horrifying and fascinating.
