Two costumed sisters are found dead in the woods. Their friend Fanya is still lost and nowhere to be found. The three girls are cosplay fans and have planned to participate at a cosplay convention in Leipzig. The detectives are not sure about the reason for their deaths. Was it suicide, or even murder? In the course of the investigation, the team gets deeper into the cosplay scene and encounter strange characters who all could be involved with the case. Even family members of the dead sisters are suspicious. The team faces a mystery, and Tom gets personally involved, when he makes the mistake to promise Fanya’s mother to find her daughter and bring her back alive. At the end of the episode, Tom commits a hit-and-run accident.
