The body of a man is found at the foot of a glacier. Kitzbühel police detectives soon find out that the body belongs to Klaus Posch, who was reported missing after a ski tour in 1976. As Hannes recalls, Posch had been involved in an accident at work in which 15-year-old Martin Görgl lost his life. Deeply depressed and plagued by guilt, Posch was said to have voiced thoughts of suicide. Coroner Dr. Pfaundler, however, determines that Posch died as a result of a gunshot wound.
