Kitzbühel remains authentic despite many worldly visitors and its status as a sophisticated town that is sometimes a bit pretentious and loud, and can often be found in the headlines. There is even a kind of functioning community, which Karin and Andreas, both investigators on Kitzbühel’s special task force, feel closely connected to. The two also rely on good local relationships: Their extended “investigative group” includes Karin’s father, Hannes Kofler. The Michelin-starred chef and owner of gourmet restaurant Pochlarner Stuben is known for both his culinary and criminal expertise, and has helped his daughter solve more than one tricky case. Another important member is cosmopolitan Countess Schönberg, whose jet-set relationships and intimate knowledge of Kitzbühel high society provide many a snippet of important information.
