The city of Chemnitz, the 2025 European Capital of Culture, becomes the stage for tragedy when respected music teacher Marianne, who had put together an orchestra uniting former and current students, is found dead a week before their first performance. Chief Inspector Winkler’s investigations lead him to the music school, where he meets students including forest ranger Saskia, forensic scientist Dr. Kulikova, orchestra conductor Florian, and promising young Syrian Faris.
