Sex offender Dirk Köster, arrested for double rape, shoots a law enforcement officer on a temporary release from prison and flees. Inspector Winnie Heller, who has just returned from a leave, takes over the case.
She receives support from Isabel Vogt, her colleague at the State Criminal Police, who originally put Köster behind bars. At the scene of the crime, the investigators quickly realize that Köster had an accomplice. Is it Köster’s girlfriend – who still believes in his innocence? Or is there someone else in the background hiding him? As the search for the armed criminal gets into full swing, the two detectives realize that nothing is quite as it seems in this case...
