When the state of Israel is proclaimed, it finds itself surrounded by enemies. The intelligence service Mossad is created in response to this – it is Israel’s insurance against a second holocaust.
Yet when Israel is founded, the conflict about power in the Middle East escalates. The Arab world declares war on Israel. The young state becomes a force in the region however and, after starting as an underdog, Mossad becomes a feared intelligence service.
