Human bones, a shoe and clothing have been discovered in the peccary compound at Berlin’s zoo. Superintendent Gehring thinks the young policewoman Sanela Beara already seems unable to cope and sends her away to get some coffee. While doing so, she meets Charlie Rubin, a caretaker at the zoo. When Sanela wants to return to the crime scene, she’s knocked unconscious from behind with a spade.
The following day in hospital, she hears that Charlie Rubin has been arrested due to her being a suspect in the murder for several reasons. The press is already presenting her as an “ice-cold murderer”.
