The German medical series Frauenarzt Dr. Markus Merthin shows the life of gynecologist Dr. Markus Merthin. Women of all ages and nationalities come to him seeking both medical and family advice, and he is so dedicated to his profession that his own marriage falls apart as a result. After separating from his wife Marlene, he decides to make a fresh start with Dr. Dorothee Wilke, a pediatrician, in addition to opening a practice of his own.
