Katja is left with nothing. She had left her job as a restorer to care for her parents a few years ago. Now they have both passed away, and Katja wants to go back to work. But there are no job openings for her. Just as she is about to leave the city in search of work elsewhere, her lucky coin happens to turn up again. Katja takes this as a sign and sets off for Herzfeldt, the place where her father had originally found the coin bearing a star.
