Ben has come home for the funeral of his father, famous author Sven Goldmann. Ben is an aspiring writer himself, and he has resolved to stay in his father’s house for the summer, in the hope of getting some work done. This will also give the reserved young man an opportunity to spend some time with his half-brother Nick again; it is many years since they had much to do with each other. Nick and Ben are complete opposites: Nick is a smart, extrovert character who charms everybody he meets. His life revolves around his real estate office, where he sells the most beautiful houses in the area for a living. The lives of both brothers are transformed when they meet Holly.
