While out riding with his daughter Toni, stable owner Andreas Falkenberg falls from his horse and dies. What initially appears to be a tragic accident is soon revealed as murder. Someone deliberately caused the fall, and the victim also has a cut on his neck. The team of investigators led by Jana, Matthias, and Alwa takes on the case. Their main suspect is Smilla, a riding instructor who had publicly threatened Falkenberg, her former boss, before his death and is no stranger to the police.
