Tanks are fast, sturdy killing machines designed to destroy. Since their invention at the beginning of the 20th century, they have also been a solid element in the omnipotence fantasies of state leaders and dictators. For the past 100 years, they have undoubtedly been the backbone of every land army.

The huge vehicles have long since found their way into global culture - whether as a monument, in films or on billboards. Tanks have made history and have themselves become part of the story. But why were they even developed? How and why did you start triumphant?
