Historian Nina Petersen is researching trauma associated with escape and flight. After more than five years, she returns to Oxford, her former place of study, to hold lectures on her specialist subject at the summer school. No sooner does she arrive, than she bumps into her old flame and the love of her life, her doctoral advisor Thomas Rothwell.
