Jantje, a nurse in Hamburg, has been struggling with her work-life balance for some time now. Her family has its routines and functions well, but her job saps her energy and she herself somehow feels left behind. When her husband Stefan unexpectedly inherits Malibu, a campground on Lake Plön, Jantje’s hope is restored. True, the campground’s best days seem to be behind it and it is not exactly what she had envisioned, but the alternative lifestyle Jantje agrees to reveals desires, secrets, and dreams that she herself didn’t even realize she had.
