An alleged accident in present-day Berlin leads inspector Lotte Jäger to a suspicious murder in diplomatic hunting circles at Hubertusstock castle in the last days of East Germany. Lotte Jäger is a Chief Inspector in a Potsdam homicide division, specializing in unresolved murder cases. Together with her colleague Schaake she tries to find the perpetrator. Another alleged accident at an escalator in present-day Berlin is connected to the death of a young woman in 1988 at castle Hubertusstock. Although apparently innocent, a man served years in prison for the crime. Investigating and interrogating persistently, Lotte Jäger discovers an international hunting circle with dubious rituals.
