A three-part series that portrays the fragile nature and incredible beauty of the Maldives, Seychelles, Mauritius, and La Réunion. The team used innovative drone and underwater technology, frequently freediving underwater to unobtrusively capture incredible footage without heavy equipment or breathing noises. Viewers are introduced to rare animals, that exhibit surprising behaviour, never before captured on film, from a sperm whale nursery to sleepy sharks lurking in caves, from elegant manta rays to sooty terns.
The legendary diversity and beauty of the coral reefs, and the rare and protected double coconut, the Coco del Mar, are sadly under threat. Due to increasingly large amounts of refuse washing up on the beaches, the coral reefs are dying, and mangroves are disappearing. Can the delicate natural paradise be saved?
