It’s a difficult case for Judge Katarina Weiss: she must decide whether the allegations against the millionaire businessman Werner Lamberg - accused of beating and raping his wife Sandra - are justified or not. In court, Katarina encounters an equally persistent and ruthless defense attorney. Star lawyer Eva Hartmann actually manages to refute all the charges to the extent that she secures a provisional release for her client. While the court struggles in vain to uncover the truth, the fronts between the bench and the defense harden more and more. When the trial takes an unexpected turn, the two women must make a decision.
