Filling Stations of Happiness is a trashy road movie narrated by the German entertainer and storyteller Friedrich Liechtenstein — a. k. a. “Mister Supergeil” (Mr. Wicked Cool).
There are over 130,000 filling stations in Europe, and he is convinced they are the most romantic places in today’s world. In each episode, Liechtenstein travels through Europe in his golden antique car visiting two or three filling stations, from the futuristic multi-energy ones to the forgotten backyard fuel pump. The journey through Europe’s greatest cities and charming towns will satisfy a thirst for travel — and for knowledge.
Where most find only junk food and soda, he meets stars and experts, singing duets, dancing interludes, cooking fabulous meals and discussing a potpourri of phenomena and the world’s problems, such as climate change and peak oil.
