Mainz, November 30th, 2023

ZDF Studios has concluded three deals with French speaking territories for the classic whodunnit Agatha Christie's Hjerson (8 x 44', 4 x 88'). French Pay TV channel serieclub (M6 and TF1 groups) along with Radio-Canada Television and RTS for French-speaking Switzerland have all licensed the mystery drama starring Swedish actor Johan Rheborg. On serieclub, the series will be launched on December 17th.

Agatha Christie's Hjerson, winner of MIPDrama's prestigious Coup de Coeur, has previously chalked up a raft of global sales including North American streamer Topic, Australia's SBS, Viasat World, Amazon and Walter Presents (UK and Ireland), amongst many others.

Mirela Nastase, Director Drama at ZDF Studios, said: "The huge success of this drama can be attributed to the enduring worldwide popularity of Agatha Christie, one of the best-selling authors of all time. Fans can never get enough. And hats off to the team behind Agatha Christie's Hjerson who have created a superb series by giving this classic tale a fresh and modern take."

The first ever adaptation based on the fictional detective of Agatha Christie's fictional writer Ariadne Oliver, this playful mystery sees former investigator Sven Hjerson retired after solving some of the toughest cases in Swedish crime history. Meanwhile Klara Sandberg, a trash TV producer wants to reset her career with a true crime show that stars him. There's just one problem, she's never actually met Sven Hjerson…
