Tupac Yupanqui, the greatest Inca conqueror, expanded the empire founded by his father Pachacutec. From their capital Cuzco, the Incas ruled with a centralized administration, using extensive road networks (Qhapaq ñan) and the knotted Khipus system for record-keeping. They combined military strength, diplomacy, and bureaucracy, managing a vast empire influenced by the earlier Huari civilization and organized through alliances and impressive infrastructure.
