Rise and Fall of the Incas

  • Neu

In just over 100 years, the Incas conquered territory spanning over 5,000 km along the Andes from Ecuador to Chile. As the Incas left no written records, historians relied on reports from Spanish conquerors for insight into this extraordinary civilisation. Using the latest archaeological research and hyper-realistic CGI imaging, this four-part series brings this lost world vividly back to life.

Each episode explores a different aspect of the Incas’ rise and fall – from their rapid conquest of vast territories to the architectural marvels of Machu Picchu, from the intricate knotted cords used to record and share information to the advanced agricultural and hydraulic engineering that sustained their realm. Finally, we trace the downfall of the Incas to discover how this mighty empire could be defeated by just 200 Spanish adventurers.
