Johanna, Thomas, Markus and Marie have to take a tough decision: whether to amputate Lucas’ leg or not. Ralf informs Stefan that the child on the photo is not his daughter Charlotte. Marie pulls Stefan out of his grief and asks him to help with Lucas since he handled such cases in Haiti for many years. Marie assists Stefan during the operation. Now they must wait till morning. Ursula is robbed by a petty thief, but Mesut knows all the tricks and wins back all the money with Alois’ help. Markus, who thinks Johanna’s decision to let Stefan operate on Lucas is wrong, fears for his brother’s life. He also makes Marie serious reproaches, for instead of trusting him, she influenced his mother. The shocked Marie is left standing there amidst these serious recriminations.
