Zauber der Korallenriffe
An untouched, mysterious archipelago lost in the vastness of the Indian Ocean: the Chagos Islands. More than 1500km from the nearest continent lies a group of 60 islands – one of the last pristine wildernesses on Earth.
Now, a scientific expedition has been granted access to this politically disputed territory to explore its unknown wildlife for the first time, accompanied by a group of filmmakers to document this lost world. As one of the world’s biggest marine national parks, the Chagos Archipelago is strictly protected, and in times of climate change and the global crisis faced by coral reef communities, the expedition seeks to show how coral reefs fare in places of minimal human influence.
This is a journey into the unknown, in the footsteps of internationally renowned scientists unlocking the secrets of a lost world – an astonishing insight into one of the last true wildernesses on Earth.
